Welcome Yuri - Junior Overhead Lines Engineer

We are excited to have Yuri onboard! Yuri has joined our team as a Junior Overhead Lines Engineer. He will be designing transmission power lines and stepping in to replace old structures, ensuring they meet regulation requirements and withstand different weather conditions. 

Yuri was attracted to Groundline because of the collaborative culture, work life balance, and the sense of team integration. He is most excited about diving into the software we use and analyzing the data. 

Originally from Durban, South Africa, Yuri brings a truly unique background to the Groundline family. Before his career here, Yuri rocked out as a part of a 2-piece alternative rock band with his sister, playing gigs in both the States and New Zealand. Not only a musician, Yuri has also turned his passion for cooking into a business, creating and selling delicious vegan cheese. His love for food comes from growing up with a talented cook as a mom. 

Also, a long-time surfer, Yuri is itching to get back in the water (once it warms up a bit), and he is also looking forward to jumping back on his BMX soon. Just don't ask him to run or hike because he is not a fan of cardio 🙂
